CapeCo Diamonds is an accredited member of the Jewellery Council of South Africa (JCSA) Our focus is on educating the potential diamond buyer on how best to go about selecting a Diamond whether its for investment purposes or an engagement ring. We have our very own unique range of Engagement rings and also offer the services of designing and making by hand any custom piece of jewellery you may require – we commit to bringing you the very best of South Africa’s Diamonds, precious metals and Goldsmith skills


By investing in CapeCo diamonds you are also investing in the future of South Africa’s wildlife. We have founded The CapeCo Wildlife Foundation to which we donate a percentage of revenue every month. The purpose of the foundation is to fund and manage the rehabilitation of South Africa’s fauna and flora with special focus on the reintroduction of indigenous wildlife and endangered species to neglected or unused farmland.

Education on the 4 C's
The value or price of a Diamond is determined by a combination of the "4 C's" as illustrated below.

1. Carat

0.03ct 0.25ct0.50ct1.00ct2.00ct3.00ct4.00ct

Carat is simply a weight measurement and refers to the size of a Diamond: 1 carat = 200mg

2. Colour

DEF - ColourlessGHIJ - Near ColourlessKLM - Faint YellowN-R - Very Light YellowS-Z - Light Yellow

The less colour present in a Diamond the more valuable the Diamond. The alphabet colour scale does not take into account "fancy coloured" diamonds.

3. Clarity

IF - Internally FlawlessVVS - Very Very Slightly IncludedVS 1-2 - Very Slightly IncludedSI 1-2-3- Slightly IncludedI 1-2-3 - Inclusions visible to the naked eye

Clarity refers to the presence of inclusions and is graded using a binocular microscope at 10 x magnification.

4. Cut

Very good ProportionsToo shallowToo deep


A well-proportioned Diamond will allow the light that enters it to be reflected by the facets and back out of the stone giving it sparkle or "fire".
